The H1-7 has always been good to us! We saw lions each time between Shingwedzi and Babalala picknic spot! We also got lions Dec 2012 at the S57 gravel road just before Babalala. And on the evening of the 23th Dec 2012 we went on a nightdrive and found a male and female lion on the Shingwedzi bridge! The even roared for us and I have got video's!

Wow rufie , you seem to foresee where lions are going to be more than three months ahead  .
Now we will be in Punda and Shing 9th October 2012 until 14th October , and I would consider it a great personal favour if you can tell me where to go and see them :) .

In 2011 , from the mainroad bridge saw a leopard walking in the Shingwedzi river bed , and also September 2010 , very early morning another one , about 10 kilometers south of Shing on the H1-6 , also in riverbed .

Hi there

We want to stay in Shingwetzi next year and would like to know what the EH3 huts are like? We booked 2 of them and asked for 2 next to each other. Are some units better than other and does anyone have some pictures for us?

Thanks

Hi, we stayed in the EH3 huts three years in a row. They are lovely and the view of the Birds, Squirrels etc. in the open plain, magic. i know you will enjoy it. (While braaing! )

Thanks Philip/Alet

In what unit number did you stay and would you prefer a specific number? One close to the bathrooms? And on the map, it seems like the bathrooms are in front of unit numbers 62 / 63. Do you still have a nice view or are you looking at a big building ? What is your opinion. Do you have pictures of your stay?

Cant wait

Hi Marijke,
Here are photos I took of a EH3 hut in Shingwedzi end of July this year (27 July 2012). I cannot remember the number but it was near a kitchen and ablution block (63?). You have a lovely view of the plain in front of the units - there are trees with lots of birds and small animal life in them. We also had a Owl in the tree in front of our hut. The restaurant look out on the river and the view is excellent. The room is spacious with three beds, a large cupboard and a basin with hot and cold water. You also get a kettle with mugs and coffee and tea inside the Hut. The freezer/fridge on the stoep is fairly large. This is a camp you always wants to go back to!

Hi all, I am new to this board but have been going to the Kruger my whole life. I will be in Shingwedzi on the 22 December 2012, I can't wait. This camp along with Letaba is by far my favourite.

Hi everyone, the last time i was at Shingwedzi is 5years ago and I noticed that the swimmimg pool was not in the best of conditions anymore. I am on my way there again in December this year with my family, does anybody know if the swimming pool has been renovated since then?

Normally we would camp with a tent or caravan but have decided that we will stay in a bungalow this year, we will be staying in Ring A, bungalow number 30 (BD5) close to the fence and secondary gate, does anybody have pics of what this bungalow looks like or what the view looks like towards the fence.

I can't wait to get there as it has been 5 long years since the last time I was there.

Thanks for the help. :)

I was there last year at the end of September and the pool was just fine
Hopefully if all plans out we'll be heading back in January.

Back from our lovely trip to Shingwedzi! 8) Even though it was extremely dry - had some nice sightings. See my TR for more...

Just wanted to know. On the Kanniedood road, South of Shingwedzi, there is this stone underneath a tree there:

Image

Does anybody know what the story is here? Who Brankey was? :hmz:

I also always ask myself the same question when I see the stone :hmz:
