In 2005 16th August, we found this big male leopard siting in the road H1-4 maybe 30kms up from Satara. He was hunting warthogs, and was playing a patience game. (must have been at it all night because it was already s 8.01am). He would walk casually from one side of the road to the other, looking into the drainage pipe below the road.

Eventually he had enough and went for them in the drainage pipe under the road. Warthogs flying out from everywhere, and one squeeling and squeeling. He picked a fight with dad or mom, and it was touch and go who would win. The battle went on for about 8 minutes, but eventually the leopard got the warthog on its back, and killed it with a bite in the chest.

This big boy was close to exhausted. The warthog also put a good lick on him, with a 3 inch gash on his head (above his right eye). The leopard also has a broken tooth, probably from before. He was completely wiped out, and stood over the kill for at least 10 minutes just recovering.

At this stage it was chaos. Must have been 50 cars trying to get close. The leopard dragged the warthog into the bushes, but there were no trees near for a lift. It was a tough battle (leopard prob weighing 75 kilos, and the warthog pretty similar)

Last year 15th of december cruising down from satara we came found a female and a cub with a small impala kill , literally 5 meters away in a tree on the side of the road. There were about 5 cars the whole time and everyone was chilled. It was a perfect photoshoot for 2 hours. Mom just posed and baby played with the innocence of youth. Was absolutely amazing.

Here's our video of a leopard, our best ever sighting. Thanks guys for information on how to post this.

Our second best sighting was on the same trip of a leopard sprawled over a tree. We thought that he had just had a baboon breakfast and we watched him for some time as he lolled, yawned and looked around. A ranger arrived on a bicycle, parked it by a tree, quite oblivous to the leopard, who jumped down in double quick time and ran off. I haven't uploaded this yet, but will do so when I get the time. I tried and failed to put a photo up here, but not quite sure what went wrong.

Third best sighting was of a young leopard in a donga which we were slowly travelling through on the Mphongolo loop up near Babalala, and we ran out of film at that very moment.
