Hyena's have a bad reputation, specially the Spotted Hyena's but after reading Gus Mills book( twice already)"Hyena nights", I think it is time to open a thread where everybody can upload images and tell some stories and where they spotted them.

I have never seen a Brown one in KTP and hope that during our December 2012 trip my luck will change :think:

Please share all your sightings and images :D

This one was walking back from a kill near the first dune road.

Thx for starting this topic!

Hyeanas are a special specie! And I love them!

Also all the research that was done on them in KTP!

My two brownies I saw near Kwang and Rooikop.

I am in KTP in December as well, maybe we will meet!

Glad you like the idea....now it is time to post that sightings....

We were one of the first cars at Mata Mata gate and was rewarded with Hyenas returning from the night and stop for a pose

The sun was just rising over the dunes and painted the Hyena in red.(This is one of my best images of the Spotted Hyena)

A clan of 5 hyeanas took down a gemsbok during the night just next to our cabin at Urikaruus, and that is what we saw the next morning :dance: :dance:
