Sparrow Through the Eyes of a Sparrow October 2012

Unread postby Sparrow » Tue Oct 02, 2012 8:16 pm

Well seeing that we have only 13 days to go to our next trip I think I should make a selection of a few pictures of some of the previous trips and see if we can better them this time.

They will be random choices and in no particular date order or preferance but they are sure good memories of what Mother Nature has to offer us mere mortals and to be protected.

I hope you will enjoy.

Tanx for the comments gang.

Hi Heksie ( small gate in english   ) We found these little chaps on the H7. Long story short, we spotted a kill at 5.45am and sat with it for at least 30 minutes before any other car arrived (all the rest had gone down the S100). Eventually after about a zillion cars had joined us we decided it was time to go and managed to muscle our way out of the scrum. As I got onto the wrong side of the road to escape we spotted that magnificant Mom with her kids who we thought was trying to cross the road to introduce the new members to the pride. After some pics (tanx girl) she decided to retreat back into the bush and we were the only ones to have seen them.

Just love these birds but can never get a good snap of them.

If only they could talk, imagine the stories they could tell.

Why do they move so fast? can never get a full frontal

Image

Dis nou `n MAN nie `n mannetjie

Image

And this Grand Old relaxed Man turned as I had just taken the snap and with ears flat trunk curled under chased us about 100 meters down the road. Never knew that a VW has 3 reverse gears.

I think that is enough for now or otherwise I will be hitching up the caravan and leaving in an hour.

See you All tomorrow.

Val, Trrp, MM, Philip, Barry, Hilda and billy tanx for your input on this trip, its a great inspiration.

Heksie Gal before you cut me off you had better read Heksie rule 565.b which states that with Heksie luck combined with Sparrow sight could deliver something awesome in 2 weeks time.

Pumbaa that bird and I had about 20 minutes together, he was eating an apple core until a taxi chased him off.

Let me now connect to flickr and bring you some more.

These little chaps were actually catching grass hoppers for breakfast.

Heks It was a snake, watched the whole lot and how he caught it.
Rhino babe was about fifty metres away and very curious with a rather agitated mom.

Tanx Trrp, yeah not long to go now. Got all the border letters and passports sorted.

Hilda the hoppers were quite large tho.

MM I have another pic of him actually skipping off into the bush on just one leg.
