Can anyone please tell me whether it has rained in Marakele yet? We are visiting there soon! Can't wait! :D

Returned this morning from our camping weekend at Bontle. Spare a thought and a serious prayer for Marakele and its animals - it is REALLY dry! :shock:
Especially the warthogs and kudu are showing strain. The acasia trees have no leaves yet, very little to graze, especially in the Kwaggasvlakte section.
Have never seen Marakele so dry - may the rains come soon! :pray:

We camped in the Bontle camp site this past week.
I was shocked to see the condition of the animals.
A Warthog and a Kudu came to the park and kneeled in front of us.
Both were on the verge of dying.
Is there nothing one can do to prevent this suffering?
There are no food for the animals, specially in this area.
We know about the fire,but in the area around the Bontle dam it is extremely dry and we saw many animals so thin and weak.
What can we do to help these suffering animals?
This is so URGENT!

Posting photos like that does not work. Well, you may have noticed that. ;)
Have a look in the Help forums about different ways of posting photos here.

SANParks has a policy of not interfering with the animals, unless it is caused by humans. So I do not think anything will be done, the animals will have to move to another area of the park.

The dam and waterholes did have water,I think the animals are hungry!But they can drink water.
Lets pray for rain soon.

Had some good rain in the Park and area, from 20mm to 40mm in some places. The Park looks better already, but needs a lot more.
