I don't know whether this plant occurs in Augrabies (I saw it in KTP), but perhaps you can help me with an ID? I think it's an acacia, but no idea which?

Hi Arks. Do you perhaps have a closeup of the leaves as that would help?

Hi Arks, pops are correct, but you can always place it under the plant ID Section.
This looks to me like Black thorn Acacia mellifera with a creeper in it.

Thanks pops and AG. Unfortrunately it's the only photo I took of it. I realise now that those seed pods, which was what I was curious about, belong to the creeper, not the shrub  I've cropped in a bit on the photo in case that helps at all with ID?

Hi arks. I feel that AG is right and that it is a black thorn. The creeper also had me fooled.

@ Arks I will stay with Black thorn, you can perhaps think back in which area you took the pic and if there are black thorn in which case we can more or less know, but for me looking at the growth form I'm almost sure.

Thanks AG and pops  Any idea what that creeper — and those interesting pods — might be? As the photo was taken in 2010, I really don't remember much about where, tho I think it was during a dune walk at !Xaus Lodge (or at least during my stay there).

Hi arks
It is Pergularia daemia, and the interesting pods is the seeds. interesting heart shape leaves as well.
The afrikaans name is Boontjie rank which means bean in english.
This plant(creeper)also have medicinal values.

Thanks so much for your help with these, AG. Really nice to have an ID — and all the additional interesting info — after more than two years :gflower:
