It is that time again, only 14 hours before we depart for the Kalahari. 99% of the shopping done and 50% packed.
The search is back on, why it is that we "can't get enough". We will keep that in mind for every kilometer that we will drive, for every sunrise and sunset, for every animal sighting, for every picnic and for every braai.
We will keep searching while sitting on the deck and watch the animals at the waterhole.
We will keep searching at night while looking at the stars, when listening to the night sounds, maybe a hyena whooping or laughing, a jackal calling or a lion roaring.
We will keep searching in the early morning when smelling the pure fresh air of the Kalahari and listening to the birds singing there songs of joy.
We will keep searching for the answer to the question why it is that we "can't get enough". And if not satisfied, we will go back to the Kalahari and start the search all over again.

Remember, a trip report from you and SO is compulsory.

Yeah a Trip Report

Well this is what I could come up with after our search in the Kalahari We will have to do the whole search all over.
Each and every visit is different, with every visit to the Kalahari there are new sides of the Kalahari that you observe and enjoy. The landscape seems totally different in the dry months than in the rainy months. Interesting the night temperatures was cold to chilly, it dropped to 2c and the day temperature reached a high of 36c. In December months the temperature can easily reach 44 to 46c, that is in the shade. The warmer the days are the more animals you will find at the waterholes. Winter months you have to experience it, cold at its best. ( minus figures)
So the question still stays unanswered. The reason why we "can't get enough".

Could it be the visit of a lion or a brownie at Mata-mata to the waterhole, when we were braaiing, or a leopard at Urikaruus, visiting the waterhole while we were braaiing?

Why is it that we can't get enough?

"The only way to find the answer is to go back and search more".

That is where it all started, with our first visit to the Kalahari. And you keep going back, why?

The reasons are endless it seem.

Could it be the lions?

Could it be that we can't get enough of the baby animals???

The baby animals will always be cute.

Or maybe it's a kill that we can't get enough of..........can you see the prey???

Can't explain the pull of the red sand! Seems like KTP swallows your soul!
