Sometimes it is a good thing to be naughty. It livens up the forum a bit  Hotels get locked, culling gets locked, bad service gets locked, future development gets locked etc etc. So what is there to fight about? :wall:

Recent ones. I have been a member long enough to know where to draw the line. But recently, a lot of post have gone missing without me knowing what was wrong. This is not the end of the world for me. I am here to share my passion for wildlife with other people and not to make a statement to the world.

Interesting Rooies...

Not that I really care either but at the beginning of the year I was well over 700 posts and I was brought back down to just over 600. Someone deleted more than 100 of my posts too. As I mentioned I dont mind...I know that I will still get to a 1000 in a year or so!!

Hi Okie

What most likely happened is while you were posting on one topic, that topic was merged with a 'home' topic, or similar topic already on the forum, and your post went along with it.

Okie, you are correct, checked the logs, there were no merges of those topics. So, not the result of mod/forum assistants action.

Hi Rooies
The rules by which we operate:

3. Moderators will keep the SANParks forums clean, tidy and easy to read. At the moderators' discretion posts/topics will be edited or removed.

We know that many posts are being removed when we clean long threads to keep them up to date (remove outdated info and the ooos and aaas). I did clean the very long thread on forum problems a few weeks ago for eg. So many post by various members are being removed every week on the forum by the moderators and the forum assistents.
4. At the moderators' discretion, Private Messages may be sent to new members to notify them of any edits to their posts/topics, or a note may be left in the post/topic by the Moderators.

We do this when we see actual postings. When we believe a edit is asked for we might send a PM. If its very rude we do the same . But if we deal with a member staying rude we do decide to remove without sending a PM. Or a very blatant post might just be removed without a PM

About the postcount.
Posts being removed by us should not affect your postcount, so that is a bit strange and we really dont have
a explanation for this

I think I've always gotten a pm when a post of mine was removed/moved/modified, but it isn't a hard and fast rule. I appreciated the heads up all the same.

Methinks that only becomes a policy once rules are officially broken and discipline is being handed out.

Also, Mods have a get out of jail free card in their CoC.

8. Although there are rules with regards to the forum - "Rules for posting on the SANParks Forums" - moderators will use their discretion when it comes to moderation.
