Unfortunately it doesn't look like they do Louise but there are quite a few other activities that you might like to consider.

I do not think so. Lourens Botha was the guide who initially started it if I'm not mistaken, as he is the only guide in the park who has got the qualification to do so. He is now stationed at Phalaborwa gate. It's a pity though IMHO.

But like Else said, there are a few other activities that might be of interest to you.

It was Juanita Grobbelaar who started, set up and ran the Star Gazing activity at Olifants. Lourens was the guide who was there to keep everyone safe while out in the bush watching the stars. Hawk and I went on one of the activities with them some years back, and really enjoyed it.

Gerhard, I dug back to read about our experience and see Lourens did more than just protect us from the animals while we gazed at the stars, he was involved with the telescope and the Sky Rangers too.

Yes that's correct Tannie. The stars is something that get Lourens excited. He is very knowledgeable about the stars and the night skies.

On the Malopeni Trails he wail always share a bit about them.

Oh well, thanks for letting me know. I'll do a night-time drive as the stars will be out and I know a few constallations.

When I came to the park last year, it was amazing, I saw the milky way for the first time.

Yes, sad that it has fallen back to Earth, so to speak. Would definitely love to see it reinstituted.

I know exactly what you mean Louise. I had heard of The Milky Way, since I was a little girl, but it took a trip to SA for me to see what it actually looked like!!! I then knew the meaning of stardust!!

Hoping that you still have a wonderful time, even though the Stargazing Drives are no longer possible.
