What feature is absent in Ostrich which, obviously not taking in to account its great size and weight, would prevent it from flying?

Whereas most birds have keel bone, to which flight muscles are attached, ostriches have a flat sternum. Therefore, ostriches don't have sufficient flight muscles to fly.

How does one differentiate between male and female guinea fowl?

1. Females lay eggs.
2. Males call monosyllabically, while females' calls are usually disyllabic.
3. The helmet on the head of the male is triangular, broader at the base, and more massive than the female's, while the female's has a pointed crown on top of the helmet.
4. The male's nostrils are more prominent than the female's (although I think this feature is for super-stiffnecks ).
5. Male guinea fowl have a significantly more upright carriage than the females, who have a more crouched posture that brings their bodies closer to the ground.

Look for it amongst Sociable Weavers nest - the nest itself can be seen by all the white feces around the entrance.

Imberbe , OWN , In October at Mokala NP , we were fortunate enough to see a PF in a tree with a Sociable weaver nest . It suddenly " dissappeared " up into it and coming out again . It was then only when I read up on it , that I realised it was going in and out of the nest , and observing it closely again , could then recognise the specific entrance
