We stayed in the cottages with the bunk beds on our last visit and found them very claustrophobic.
We are not youngsters (6o's and 70's) and feel now that we need a bit of comfort.
As we are from UK we are limited with what we can bring as extras.

We may see you then, as we will be on our "Winter Migration" from UK to SA then - Nov to March, and we stay in Phalaborwa, going into the park most days as day visitors..........we are often in Mopani, for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or afternoon tea..

What a great sunset we had tonight at mopani. Saw the fish eagle eat his supper accros the dam. Then this wind started. Had to put the fire out in a hurry. Now a huge storm approaching.

Anyone got any comments or reports on how the waterpoint closures have affected game-viewing in the Mopani area ?

Hi all :yaya:

We've booked a FB4 bungalow in July and would like to know if anyone can tell me if the veranda's/kitchens of all the units are facing the road or the bush. Can anyone recommend one that is a bit private?

roaneric - from what I remember of my walks around the camp over last year's easter week end - none of the kitchens / braai areas face the road - all face the bush

Roaneric: We stayed last Oktober in Mopani, had also FB4 and our Cottage (No. 83) was at the end of a cul-de-sac. The kitchen looked out on the parking aerea, but quite private as there was only the last Cottage to your right. Ursula

Hello,

We have a BD4 unit reserved for the end of April. All the recommended units seem to be for the units with a view, which are now a separate type and not available. Are there any recommendations for a BD4 ? Are any more private than others ? Thanks !

Kelly

Hi Kellylee,
I have never stayed in any of the BD4's personally,
always have been lucky enough to get the perimeter ones, # 49 & 51! :D

One of the things I like about Mopani is the fact that most of the bungalows are lovely and private as they have retained the natural bush between them all, so difficult to say which is better.
Have you had a look at the ones in This Topic

Thanks Elsa. I did have a look at the page you give, it's hard to tell much about the BD4s. But it sounds like I can probably just put this on my not to do list, sounds like probably whatever one we get will be fine. Thanks !
