Hi, can you please tell me, is there any water at Rooiputs? We go there in December from 19 to 26 .

@Elize, there is a borehole with pump but don't bargain on having water all the time. During our previous visit we had water about 50% of the time. I suppose the supply rate is limited and this is what happens when demand outstrips supply so rather plan for not having water.

:D :D Tobio since you are not getting any photos of site 6... see that A-frame to the left under the tree (about a zillion meters away)? That is site 6 as seen from site 1. The lights under the tree on the right is site 5.

Hi We stayed inRooiputs 5 nights 21 Aug 2012, 2 in no6 and 3 nights in no 5. Had lions in the camp for one whole day, abou 100 m from no6. Lions roared 3 night, 2 nights in the camp. Strange how small you feel in your tent at night while they roar quite close to the tent. One morning we spotted a young leopard abou 4 km from camp, then the afternoon it came to visit. At no 1 he was in the tents, also playing with a shoe in the toilet. He was very playful, and when it started to get dark, the people quite struggled to get him away from no1,2,and 3. I'll try to post some photos.

Just had 4 days at RP and then 2 days at TR. Enter and leave at TW and NO passport is needed, but do take it along.
Last year we left through Mata Mata into Namibia, obviously passports are vitally important then.
Three years in a row and NO water at RP? Fill up at TW.

Etienne,

Have a look at this tutorial on How to post photos. If you have any trouble please PM me or one of the other mods and we'll try to help.

Alternatively I could PM you my email address and I can use the Admin account to host the photos.
