Luckily I enjoy the 'pipes, so my CD of the Pipes & Drums of the Black Watch drowns out most drunken sounds.

Also a reprise when I get up, sends a clear message.

So if it was you Val, (and I am sure it would not be) would it cause you to stop and keep quiet?

What the Scots do to that poor beastie is cruel.
It should be banned.

Without doubt, however under the United Nation protocol relating to the treatment of human beings this could be classified as a form of torture.
I would hate to see you in front of the local magistrate!!!
However if you need a reference I'm sure Saraf and I would put a good word in for you.

I don't know what you're all talking about - bagpipes are one of my all-time favourite instruments; it's just the bodies under the kilts that often need some tuning.

One night in Sendelingsdrift in Richtersveld, the campsite was 'treated' to stories by the late Tolla van der Merwe. I got my revenge soon after when I fell asleep.

Unfortunately I travel with bagpipes on my playlist  But once off the highway, the sounds of the bush are my soundtrack of choice (will see whether I can listen to it while driving in KTP in the summer, not sure the dust and heat will allow for nature to be my constant audio option).

But, for this topic, I have a question. I prefer avoiding much conflict (get more than enough as an operations support engineer) so I would also always avoid doing something that would offend. In terms of KTP wilderness camps (Grootkolk and Urikaruus specifically), what is the general accepted amount of movement at your hut?

I would imagine that at night you keep close to your door as you cannot see the dangers outside, but while there is sun, is it shortest line between the door and car, or is some movement allowed near your area to quickly photograph a lbj in a tree that you are just not sure you have seen yet?

At night, while photographing from my area, am I allowed to use a torch and/or flash?

On a night drive, are flashes acceptable? And on a morning walk?

Pardon all the questions, as someone who has visited Addo, Karoo, MZNP, GG a few times, and KNP over 10 times, I am slightly new to KTP and have never even seen a wilderness camp other than on pics. So excited!

Thanks for your time

John
