I have also seen AWC in Satara camp. It was also late at night, returning from a bushbraai. It was feeding on a chop bone

We saw an AWC in Tamboti at the end of a night ride.

Did You Know? :hmz:
The eyes of the African Wild Cat kittens only open 10 - 14 days after birth.

The African Wild Cat is very territorial and both male and female mark their territory with urine.

The African Wild Cat can catch birds as big as a Helmeted Guineafowl. They are caught close to waterholes and caught out of the air.

I would advise readers to go to Leeukos's trip report for more detail on the cat.

Whilst travelling on the S36 during the middle of the day I saw an AWC ad her kitten in the road. As I was stopping they quickly moved off into the thick undergrowth. After scouring the bush I saw the mother on an anthill and managed to get a photo of her. My first photo of an AWC.

Thye AWC in Satara is still there she comes into A circle the section alongside the fence every night about 7 to 9 pm and will allow u to approach to within 6 or 7 meters, she does not like flash too much and will move off if it is used too much. We saw her everynight from 29/09 to 02/10 2012.
