Hi just want to tell you that when my boys where young we used to camp here in the UK..
And there was many nights that I used to out my youngest (9months) in his buggy in the
middle if the night and walk for miles just to keep in quiet, I would have hated to be the
other campers listening to him cry ..

.............and that is called "Being considerate to others".

I think it is called freedom of choice.
Being an old toppie who would love more children but momma is also an old toppie and cannot give me any, I know a baby cries in the night for a reason and the parents should see what it is the baby is crying for. As far as I am concerned it won't bother me hearing a baby cry, children do make noises and we old toppies must understand that we were like that once maybe they have forgotten, and I agree that maybe the older folk should go when the children are at school. And while I am at it, what gets my goat is these people who arrive and the very first thing they do is set up their satellite dish, and in the evening all you hear is their TV and the African bush disappears leaving me feeling like I am back in the suburbs

Never understood the need for TV when outdoors or in a nature reserve
But, to each his own i suppose

Can't SANParks prohibit such things as satellite dishes — just like they prohibit bicycles and such in most parks? You just can't count on anyone having consideration for others these days

But I must warn you all, if THIS old toppie is in camp with you, you had better get to sleep before me, otherwise you might not get to sleep at all!

Was horribly disturbed in BnD last year June long weekend by someone watching TV on his 42" LCD. He was at least 30-40 metres away and we could still hear it clearly.

Our family rule has always been to turn off the car radio/CD player at the Park Gate, and we would never dream of bringing a portable radio, music player or TV with!!!
That is not what kruger is all about.

Absolutely CV. I have NEVER played a radio, TV, or anything that generates human noise in the wild; and so I can never understand anyone who wants to.

When staying in a camp in the Kruger or any game reserve why on earth would you want a television/radio/cell phone/ipod/ipad?? The whole point of staying in a game reserve is to relax and enjoy yourself while listening/looking for game, if you want televisions etc, rather stay at home and leave the bush lovers alone

I agree.

For those who MUST watch something, there are TV 'lounges' in some camps.
