What is Dyaroach ? Hmmmm.. :hmz: ..... sounds like cockroach poison , in which case it would be most irresponsible to use

I wonder if it is effective anyway? Unless the smell would put them off.

What about juisfluid, mix it in a spraybottle and spray it in the tires.

Dogs don't like the smell, so may be lions also.

One of the things we were told by friends on our first visits to the park was to avoid driving over buffalo droppings and urine if possible. We were told that lions were attracted to the smell in the tyres and could then decide to give them a nibble.

Maybe this could explain some of the behaviour???

In that case, whatever you do, don't spray them with (P) Aramis!

I have used Citronella oil on my windows sills to keep naughty Tom cats from eating my cat's food. I wonder if it would work for Lions. :hmz: The smell is apparently extremely unpleasant for domestic cats.

Lopis has a spray from keeping dogs from lifting their leg against your tyre, due to the fact I am in Kruger etc. for long periods I spray my tyres, and mudflaps every few days. It works on Lion and Hyena I know. And it is environmentaly friendly.

Excellent advice...thanks Scipio. That'll most certainly stop them from 'noshing' the tyres, mudflaps and anything that takes their fancy NOT forgetting wing mirrors :hands:

I would like to know how often this "attacks" happens because I really think it is the exception to the rule and not worth catering for. In Kgalagadi we had a male lion that was very interested in us sitting in the vehicle - later on realizing it must have been the presence of biltong (dried raw meat) in the vehicle that made him pay more attention to us than usual. We have been visiting parks around southern Africa for many years and it is the first time I noticed a lion behave like that. Point I'm trying to make is these instances are so infrequent that it is good to know but not worth catering for them. I will certainly not stop taking biltong to the Kgalagadi :D.
