All of the Cisticolas are Neddicky unfortunately, Wailing has a much darker black mottled back.
The pipits look all like African to me..

I really don't have a clue what this bird is, altho I think that it must be some sort of swift or martin? The white "windows" in the tail would point to rock martin, but the grey breast and russet rump? :hmz:

The last two pics looks like Greater Striped Swallow Arks.

Would say you are correct with the first pic

While it's of course possible that these are two different birds, according to the camera's time stamp, the photos were all taken within the same minute .... so I'd assumed they were all of the same bird? :wall: :hmz:

Should also mention that the pix were taken in Marakele in early April 2012.

I think the first one is Brown-throated Martin can't see any white windows on its tail

Thanks, Ladybirder. However, I'm still puzzled because I'd thought that all three photos are of the same bird, since they were all taken within the same minute. Does anyone else have any thoughts/ideas on these?

Definitely two different birds. You can see a notable difference in the wingshape and the second bird has streamers on its tail. Your last photo also clearly shows a dark back with a rufous rump not visible in your first photo which shows an all brown bird.
Brown-throated Martin and Greater-striped Swallow.

Thanks so much for your expert input, Johann! I can see now that they do have quite different features — it's their having been taken within the same minute that was confusing for me, but I guess our fancy digital cameras can shoot quite a few frames in 60 seconds :roll: :wink:
