Thanks, JJ - I'm pretty sure it was a leopard. Body mass seemed too big for cheetah, but those long legs made me look twice.

There certainly is a lot of protein on the hoof at Orpen today!

I'm puzzled. This afternoon (7 July) I glanced at my computer and saw something in the picture of the Nossob webcam. It was to the left of the waterhole in the foreground and my first thought was that it was a large snake. Second reaction was surely not. Aren't snakes hibernating now? Anyhow the picture clicked over to the next frame before I could highlight it and I wondered if anyone else saw it, and if there is any possibility that it could have been a large snake.
