I saw this impala during the past weekend near Berg en Dal. Look carefully at the ears....... which is a mystery to me. It almost look like it was done by a Vet.

Does anybody know what could have caused this?

I strongly doubt it's something done by a vet :hmz: Seems like a gene hiccup, both ears seem to have exactly the same malformation.

I witnessed the same thing recently near Orpen Gate - The female Impala ears were exactly the same as in Bundi's photo.
She had a perfectly normal lamb with her - :hmz:

I love Impala, when I see them I know that I am truly in the Kruger. We always say that they are the MacDonalds of the Kruger because you can find them almost everywhere and they are on a lot of animals menus

You will be amazed if you read through the trip reports Leo21! Almost everybody loves Impalas! The fact that there are so many of them, doesn't matter. They are beautiful!

I agree with you leo21. It is normally the first mammal that one see and someone once said that they are the welcome committees of Kruger. If I see the Impalas, then I know that I am back where I belong.
