The structure of an owl’s foot is referred to as zygodactyl. What does this mean and what is special about the owl when compared to other bird's with this structure?

It means that two toes face forwards andtwo face backwards. The difference between owls and other birds having the same structure (woodpeckers) is that the third toe can sometimes be rotated forward whilst perching. Other birds are unable to do so.
