Hi Naomi, I would say that the first plant looks to me like Babiana hypogea also known as the Baboon Onion.

The second unfortunately I don't have a clue perhaps a guru can help here.

I'm officially stumped on this one :hmz: but I'll keep searching for it.

Thanks, naturelover! Does this crop help? Pea family perhaps?

I think it is a Polygala in the POLYGALACEAE family. This family superficially resembles the 'pea' family.

Thanks, naturelover. I just realised that I listed where I saw it incorrectly, I actually saw this one in WCNP on 24 MAY 2012. Does that change what it might be?

Got it: Nylandtia spinosa also POLYGALACEAE. I am very gald you told me it was from the WCNP as this made identifying it a whole lot easier. It is so important to get the locality right as this helps narrow down the number of possibilities and elimanate lookalikes occuring in other areas.

If you ever need anything else identified please don't hesitate.

Thanks, naturelover and apologies for originally giving you the incorrect locale for the shrub.

And since you so graciously offered, here's another, also seen at WCNP on 24 May 2012

And this one, seen along Darling Hills Road on 9 June 2012
