Update on lions' buffalo kill on Satara webcam:
The lions were more bold than I thought! They moved closer to the spectators at the fence, back to their kill and out of view from the webcam. You will see spectators at the fence watching the lions at their kill - I was wrong there; the lions HAVE returned even with the spectators so close to them! I thought the spectators would have scared them off - but after dark, a lion's behaviour is changing, that is proof now!

I am trying to get a glimpse of the lions at their kill (which is out of view as said earlier) utilising the light from the spot lights some of the guests at Satara are shining on them, apologies for the picture quality and unclear pictures as the light from the spot lights from our guests in the camp, are shining directly into the webcam as well. I am switching the webcam to different modes to try and enhance the picture quality (you will see black and white 'night mode' now and then as well)

And to top it all, the lions killed the buffalo in exactly the spot where the webcam's pan (that is right and left movement for the non-photographers out there) is at its limit - it does not have a full 360 degree pan - almost but not quite! Bear in mind the webcam was installed for action in front of it, not directly behind it

Just in: Confirmation from my colleagues at Satara that the lions are NOT at the kill . They are indeed scared of all the human activity at the fence. Apologies on previous update that i assumed they are at the kill.

I spotted one of the younger males between the webcam and the kill - but not at the kill..in the grass between the kill and the webcam. This means that he is still scared of going closer (to the kill). Perhaps somebody captured him as I had the cam on him (black in white night mode) a few minutes ago.
