Lovely pic TH!!!!

Hawk and I set off along the N2 and turned off at Grabouw towards Franschhoek.

We needed to drive east to see the moon rise as we live in a basin surrounded by mountains.

So, the moon rising over the Cape at about 17:45:

TH, that is an awesome pic

To us the moon did seem bigger than normal at full moon. Etv news said it looks about about 30% larger, and 14% brighter. They also said watching it rise tomorrow night would be best as then the sky will be dark.

The moon rise was more impressive, size wise, I think. The moon set was very pretty over False Bay ... setting as the sun rose.

Sunday night. It's the "Super Moon!"

Unread postby Trrp-trrrrrrrr » Sun Aug 10, 2014 8:30 am

Saw the first stages of what is to come later this evening.... photo taken today at 07h17 this morning as the moon was setting behind Lions Head, in Cape Town.

Unfortunately I only have a point and shoot camera. :(

This made me think that all our 'mites with super special cameras could perhaps showcase their magnificent photos taken this evening here, for the enjoyment of us all. :D
