@ Threedogs: Thank you. I must tell you, it is not one of those normal kennels where they stay in a cage with a cement floor for the whole period. They only sleep in such a kennel, (we take their beds with), but during the day they go out into a big camp with trees, grass, cushions, toys and what have you. At four in the afternoon, the owner and her daughter take them in again, give each and everyone personal attention, then they get their food and are ready for bed. There are about 38 of these camps, and my four don't share a camp with other dogs. To me, this is the ideal kennel. :D

@ Meandering Mouse: Thank you MM. They are very spoiled, I must say. But we love them so much! :D

@hilda - that boarding kennel sounds amazing!

So........I still have my foster dog and although it is only 2 weeks...gee she is lovely and amazingly intelligent! I think I may have fallen at the first hurdle of this fostering business :?

SO who has been away or working long hours since she arrived, was actually home a couple of days ago when I brought her from the outside kennel over to the backyard. She bounced around ecstatically, then came back to me and sort of stood up with one paw on my thigh and just stared at me with such intensity....
'I think she loves me already', I said to SO in a sheepish, bemused voice.
SO just gave me a look and in a voice full of resignation and 'I knew that would happen' tone, says, 'Yep, she ain't goin' anywhere......' and turned and walked into the house.

Last week was a very sad week for us, we lost our much loved little Sabrina on Sunday. She was suffering from a birth defect, she outgrew her liver. :(
Our poor kids did not know what to do with their parents, we deteriorated into two pathetic bundles. It all came as a very big shock.

Last night my son walked in and put a furry little bundle wrapped in a blanket in SO's hands. In honor of Sabrina she will be called Zina. As some wise man said earlier in this topic, she's not a replacement but a continuance. It does not sooth the pain and the tears still run freely but it gives us something else to focus on. New puppies always give you lots to focus on and this just as I convinced Dudley that it's not cool to wee inside.

I'll post up some pics soon. :)

Wonderful JenB! Little Zina will definitely help sooth the pain of the loss of Sabrina. (I am crying again.) :gflower:

Oh JenB - I feel, we feel, all the forum feels your ache and heartbreak.

Oh man it just hurts so much but we all hope that this new little bundle will help to heal you and make you smile when you think of Sabrina.

Thank you for understanding everyone, I have far too many pics of Sabrina all over. My phone, my PC, the wall....

But yes, I'm being kept very busy!
At only 6 weeks old Zina already knew her name within hours, she's running around giving the boys all their days and she's a very clever little girl. 8) If things get too hot for her at ground level she sits in front of me crying lifting her paw and wagging her fat little tail to be picked up. She's already very comfortable.... in my side of the bed.

Hugh, I can only do one breed. Zina is a little rottie and she looks so much like Boris did when he was a baby. Boris is very patient but he has not quite taken to her yet. He's very puzzled trying to work out what happened here.

Hi JenB!

I just know that Zina will be a bundle of joy, all over your face little lady which brings joy to everybody in her presence :D . Seems that Sparks and I are in the same boat regarding sharing the bed with a four legged kid :hmz: . Our youngest sleeps along the headbord, between me and Hilda's pillows, on his back .

Here she is. :)
Zina, she'll be 7 weeks old tomorrow.

Barry, she already comes running if she thinks that we're on our way to bed. :slap:

A friend of mine's bitch (schauzer) had a secret admirer and visitor before she could take the dog to be spayed. They don't know who or what the nature of the beast might be. Dad is possibly a fox terrier.

She sent me a picture of one of the pups, now looking for a home.

My children said after Prince's death, "please ma, no more dogs, you're becoming like an eccentric cat/dog lady ":naughty:

oh dear, those little eyes keep calling me
