I know, quite a historical family he has got there Amazing!

I love his work though, and I think I have watched all his doccies

I can't say I know all of them that he has directed But I know pretty much every Doccie on Nat Geo Wild so I've probably seen them all
Hyena Queen, is one of the best doccies I've ever seen!! A fascinating narrative as well as insight into the immense intelligence of the Hyena and the complexity of their social structure!
They are freakin awesome creatures!

I know! He gives us a complete new outlook to hyenas. They are actually wonderful animals. It also amazes me how he can "interact" wild animals. wow!

You absolutely right about that!!

Although on the flip side, I believe that many of the tourists that get out of their car in Kruger (like walking towards eating lions or a black mamba) have gotten this impression from Nat Geo Doccies where people are walking with lions, becoming part of the hyena clan, swamp men jumping on crocodile backs etc.

That is true hey. Like also the fuy from "Walking with Lions" can give that impression. I don't think they realsie that it takes months if not years of studying their behaviour...

I was once in Hluhluwe and saw a women, get out her car and walk towards an ENTIRE herd of buffalo, like seriously!!!

Out of allll the animals Buffalo?!
And even the experts know, animals are unpredictable!
And I like them wild.

It must be awesome to meet someone like that.

Definitely agree 200% that people watch those doccies with interactions with wild animals, think that they can do, and do not realise that the animals are DANGEROUS. That and people used to going to zoos, where the animals are kept in cages, might also thunk that Kruger is a Zoo and the animals are harmless. Shame, there are no pills for stupid people....

lol then there would be to many clever people in the world But still those people are stupid to believe what they see...

Absolutely Wildest

Almost all the animals should react by either running away from humans, or alternatively attacking them!
(Cheetah are often OK with humans though). And all the pamphlets when you enter the park, tell you the rules. But still, people are too clever from their Nat Geo knowledge

I have had to take a wee or two in the Park. And then I took my life in to my own hands. Depended on the impala to alert me to danger. Yet we know a lion can be invisible 2 meters away People who take a stroll, don't have a clue! Heksie and I have a whole gallery to name and shame from our trip!

We also have seen many people alighting

Once at Orpen, we saw a random man walking in the bush. He had not got out of car, because he did not have one After reporting it, we discovered he was an illegal immigrant making his was through the park, and his family had been killed on the way through

If I had reported it, I would have wanted to see action! Some Ranger go get the dude right now! Before we read a BBM update "Lion on human kill, 6km from Orpen on the H7"

they are. I read in a book about a ranger who had to go find and put down a n injured buffalo. when he found the buff, the buff started walking in circles, wanting to lead the ranger in an ambush. Luckily he figured it out soon enough and could get out the way. If I remember right he climbed a tree and shot the buff from there. Otherwise he would have been no more.

Even at a game farm place take a walk and not realise what kind of animals and how to react we are putting our lives in danger.
And like u said we might not even see an animal. A couple of years ago me and my brother were driving around in krugs, stopped at some impies for quite a while. We could see they were stressed, but not why they were. Then a leopard jumpedd out the tree right next to us, across the road and gone. We did not see it!!!!!!

'Lion on human kill' I've heard of lions chowing up some poachers!!!!

Hectic story Wildest!!

Even a healthy buffalo is a big danger. The biggest danger when you are on foot in Kruger after Hippo!
It is common knowledge that some of the weaker lion prides get pushed towards the border, where they have become accustomed to eating the Mozambeque peeps. And I did have a binocular sighting North of Letaba of a human leg in a tree There was pants and flesh. A hungry leopard will easily snatch you up also.
