Ok, I got 7/8, better than I expected, given how much head scratching went into it...

A couple of the photos have disappeared! Is anybody else having this problem?

Thankfully I got my pictures back, although it really didn't help me with the first one - would have been better if they had found a swap!

Got 7/8 anyway so very happy!!

Thanks again to Lizette for giving us a "different" bird challenge....doing it this way, I even knew where to look in my book, unlike some of the others!

Looking forward to what Ettienne is going to hit us with next time.

Well done Rookie . That is a great score . I only have 5/8 this time around. Thank you Lizzete for two most entertaing challenges. Did learn not only to look at the obvious, but also to specific detail .

For those that are wondering about the next challenge.......I have it all ready. Johan left me with strict instructions to send it out on the forum tomorrow........but.........but.......but.........maybe I'll slip it in tonight. Following two great challenges from Lizet I am afraid mine may be a tad too easy for most, but lets see what happens over the next few days.

Don't worry Waterbuck, there are some 'mites who appreciate an easier challenge now and again, especially since the Ducklings challenge has all but died...

That said... I really enjoyed Lizet's two "themed" challenges, it forced me to learn quite a lot about two rather difficult groups of birds, more so than when having to ID birds from all over the spectrum. Thanks Lizet!

(I first got 6/8 for the birds-of-prey challenge, then 7/8, and now that I've finally consulted a dedicated bird-of-prey book, I think I also know what number 3 should be....but haven't bothered to send in a third try... will wait for the official answers )

Good for you Dabchick! 7/8 is wonderful! I didn't make use of Lizet's offer to send in a 2nd try, I thought it wouldn't be fair.

I hope we get even one right this time. Will send our answers in this evening, if that is ok.

I am afraid I am going to have to ask for a rain check on the challenges for the next few weeks.
I just have too much on my plate currently, getting ready to move house, plus a trip report to finish and learning the ropes as a forum assistant.
But as soon as my life calms down a bit and we are settled I will be back as I love doing the challenges.

Finally got my answers in [for what they're worth ]
No more challenges for me for the next three weeks.
I'm off to Kruger on Monday to try the real thing!
