What did the Germans call the big Camel Thorn Tree at Grootkolk???

wow....I don't know!!!
I found that the big Camel Thorn Tree was used by the Germans as a look-out post. They nailed horseshoes to the tree to serve as a ladder. The tree was burnt down in a large veldfire in 1976.

I'd hazard a guess at "Der Ausguckbaum" which, correct if I'm wrong, translates as "look-out tree". Completely made up on the spot, but none of my books mention it! Fantastic Q!
