The best reading are right here under our noses, our very own Forum's "Travel Tales", written with humour, honesty, joy, excitement.. and with (excellent) photos.
Imagine publishing all the travel tales in one thick book, I think it will be a best seller

Thank you to all the contributors

During September 2011 my wife and myself visited the Kruger National Park. We entered the park at Crocodile Bridge and drove along the tar road to Lower Sabie and then to Skukuza. This was and will always be my most memorable trip to the Kruger as I had a wish to see the late/great tusker "Duke", this was only about a week before he died of old age. We stopped at a bridge over a dry river bed only a few kilometers from out entry into the park to look at a Rhino that was lazing in the river bed. My wife requested me to get the video camera ready as there was a bif eliphant on the other side off the bridge trying to destroy a tree. but before she could start rolling the camera this massive elephant started to cross the road behind us and I then realised that this is my dream come true. I could now say I saw Duke (without his tusks). You can see him in the photos below. We then drove further and saw 2 lions next to the road. A few kilometers up the road another visitor stopped us and asked where the lions were and we luckily took our kilo meter reading before we left the lions and could tell them where they were. he then told us that if we wanted to see a leopard that we can find it just before Lower Sabie over the weir. We also saw buffalo to complete our big five in just under 7 hours on our first day. We then had a beautiful rest of the weekend with lots of birds, lion, elephants, rhino and further leopard sightings. Please enjoy the photos below of this historic trip.
