Stopped for coffee at Orpen Gate on Sunday - right next to the little kiosk there were a whole lot of plants in flower and I am keen to know what they were - no pic I am afraid but the flowers did look a bit like a gladioli - gorgeous pink flowers and they could have been some sort of bulb. Anyone know what they are - I would be so grateful to find out

Hoping the section ranger for this area might be able to assist me in finding what these plants are

I do hope that someone visiting there regularly will assist, Safari Gal :D
Lets wait and see and if you don't get a positive ID within a reasonable time, I will do my best to get more info

This makes me think that it can be Crinums. Will see if i can find a picture for you, so you can say if it is this or not. Otherwise we keep on looking for more info for you. :D

Thanks so much Wildflowergirl. I have had a look at crinums on google and they appear to be more a drooping type of flower whereas the ones at Orpen had their "faces" more turned upwards. They had thin strappy type leaves and seed heads once the flower had finished flowering. Very delicate pink.
But at least your information has told me what all the white flowering plants in the bush around Satara are, so thanks for that
