welcome to the forum free _spirit :D

I try to reply... only electricity at TR and at Nossob and Mata Mata but not all the night... for these 2 no electricity after 21h30 till 5h00
mobile/internet reception only at TR, sometime a tiny point at Kiliekrankie... sometime...
all the other camps have electricity (solar)... but not to charge batteries... for Bitterpan I think it's the same, no charging facility
I hope this can help you... even if it's a bit confused

and... when are you going to
what a chance

Dear all,

just to add a tiny detail: we were in Kieliekrankie some weeks ago, and the attendant kindly helped us with loading a camera battery with his equipement, which is capable of more than the bungalows are.

A magnificent place to be by the way, but it will try to elaborate once we sorted out our 2.900 (!!) photo's from a 24 days trip through SA, Nam and BW (of which only 2 days in KTP, but it were fruitfull days, as Jan Kriel already saw when we met at TR  .

Until soon,

Papadoc

Thanks all for the welcome and the info.
I was on the forum before but could not recover my login details.

I'll be at each of the main camps so hopefully I'll be able to keep the batteries charged
My trip is Nov 10-25 at this point.
I'm missing out on the north and Bitterpan because my car is not 4x4 but that's ok.
Staying at all the other camps except Urikaruus which is not available.

Long drive from Centurion/Pretoria. Any tips on the journey or good chalets en route?

thanks again,
K

I go via Upington and not Van Zylsrus, although that is a bit longer, it goes faster. Also, a drive through the night, so less traffic also helps.

From home to Twee Rivieren takes about 11 hours which includes a stop here and there and one fuel stop at Upington. Next time may go a bit slower with the trailer though...

The water is ok for drinking free_spirit, but it tastes vile. It will do you no harm.

Bottled water should be available at the 3 camps with shops, but the one at 2R is more reliable, the other 2 are small.
