3. Looks like something out of the Vernonia family. (Maybe natalensis / poskeana)

The Vernonia can be 1 of the 2 species mentioned by Imberbe or even V. fastigiata... difficult to tell without seeing it in real life.

Location: Looking for Bats...
Was asked the other day by one of my guests while guiding in Kruger what this small shrub was on the side of the road. It gives a typical bush smell and never noticed it before.

Anyone know what it is? :D

Looks like one of the Vernonias. It *might* be in Elsa Pooley's KZN wildflower book, or maybe in one of Gerrit Germishuizen / Anita Fabian's offerings. (Thinks: maybe we need a KNP wildflower book as companion to Schmidt-et-al's tree book ...)

The genus Vernonia was recently moved into the genus Hilliardella
