Cool topic!

About 2 metre away from my desk here, I have the door open onto the garden, and there are some guinea fowl pecking around the ground - one twit is determined there is a threat to his existence in the pane of glass in the door and keeps pecking at it.
A pair of dikkops are resting in the sun amongst the roses (which could well die under my care - the roses, not the dikkops) a few metres on. And sitting in the sun right outside the door is a rock pigeon.

Location: Red sand, why do I keep thinking of red sand?
Moving my desk a few meters would give me the chance to see:
Magpies (Pica pica)
Common Blackbird (Turdus merula)
Common Gull or Mew Gull (Larus canus)
Herring Gull (Larus argentatus)
Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus)
Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus)
Middle Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos medius)
Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra)
Wild duck (Anas platyrhynchos)
Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea)
Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo)
Blue Tit (Parus caeruleus)
Great Tit (Parus major)
Long-tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus)

Those I see daily or almost daily here, but my desk is not close to the window.

My downstairs neighbour is a very avid bird feeder, and has lots of birds in her garden. From my balcony (often sit and work there), I can usually see:
sparrows
Cape Glossy Starlings
Crested Barbets
Black-collared Barbets
Grey Go-away Birds
Southern Masked Weavers
Green Woodhoopoes
Thrushes
Robin Chats

it is rather pleasant!

Now there's a rock hyrax (dassie) and some kind of prinia (possibly tawny-flanked - not all that great with LBJs). I can also hear guinea fowl (helmeted - obviously, since I'm not anywhere near Punda or Pafuri at the moment)

I agree with lion queen, Scipio! All that at once, including varkies (warthogs) and a gymnogene - not fair : (Now of course you have me wondering - where on earth will you find all that.. (impala, hornbills, warthog, duiker..... and a donkey!?) - are you at some kind of zoo?)

Just outside my computer room window is a new nest with a Laughing Dove in attendance.
And we have hoards of little Bronze Mannikins on the balcony where we have placed 3 nesting boxes and little seed trays for them.
I saw an Indian Mynah land on the railing a short while ago but he decided to skedaddle as soon as he saw me approach the door.
We also have a pair of Egyptian Geese who seem determined to take over our pool area almost as much as the caretaker is determined they won't.
Often have Wooly-necked Storks flying over but not today, that I have seen anyway.

Well, if it was the south of Kruger you could have called it a zoo.

Busy morning from my office window.

I see a Greater Roadrunner hunting (or trying to...looks to be a juvenile) one of many Round-tailed ground Squirrels that have colonies around my building, a couple squirrels dodging the hunter, and a whiptail lizard sunning itself on the sidewalk.

I really should remember to bring my camera to work.
