Here's a suni pic...not SANPARKS!

They are tiny, about the size of a monkey, for want of a better comparison, and have small ears, which is unusual for the smaller antelope!

Identity of above pic in dispute!

Will remove later!

Hmmmm? Not sure I should post this????? No one will believe me

Recently had wonderful views of a Suni and managed to get photos of one pulling tongues at me

Will take me a while before I can find and download the photos, so please bear with me for a while - and yes, it was a wild one and not in a Zoo

Punda may have been an area for them in the old days, but now, who knows?

I'm sure they are extinct in Kruger, IMHO! :?

It still is. We saw them, well, one, last december on a nightdrive. Too far for my flash, so I didn't bother to try.

Hi RP,

Where did you photograph the "suni" above - it looks awefully much like a blue duiker. . . . :hmz:

Up to fairly recently suni frequented game farms in the Pongola area and with the excellent conservation practices on these game farms I tend to believe suni is now more plentiful in that area.

Hi all;

I had a guide insist we saw a suni on a sunset drive near Shingwedzi. No photos, and IMHO, I never got a good look myself...only a fleeting gllimpse of a very small antelope bum!

I took a photo of a little chap not far of Skukuza, standing in the road. Way too small to be a Steen. And quick as lightning...was off into the bush before I got a good photo. But I didn't say I didn't get a photo....
Image

Ignore the peak at the top of his head, as it is a mirage of sorts...Caused by small forward sitting horns. Much smaller than a duiker, and was twitching his tail side to side like a dog wagging his tail. Also has large ears, but not characteristically fur lined like a steenbok . May be a small duiker....I am no professional....but sadly this is the only photo I got, as this little guy was shy!

I should mention he was in the middle of bounding through the grass in this photo.... Had huge eyes as well.... Wish I would have been quick enough to get a photo when he was standing in the road, but like I said, he moved as quick as a mouse!

I agree , looks more like a blue duiker than a suni .
In May 2011 saw a very small antelope close to Klopperfontein ,which I hoped was a suni , but he was so quick through the grass

RP, after our sighting in 2009, I spent a lot of time in mammal books to verify my sighting. I would definitely lean strongly towards blue duiker, rather than suni, for your pic.

Barcelona, definitely does not look like a suni; more like a greyduiker.

They are BROWN!

And yes, my earlier pic seems like some other duiker!

All from internet!

RP, glorious pics. Which only goes to cement in my mind that it was indeed a suni we saw in 2009!

Barcud, is that your pic, or another pixel-clone from the Net?

OWN, I'm

I'll send you the original RAW image if you pm me your e-mail address, plus the 25 odd other photos I took of this little gem.

Not sure I like the insinuation from your comment that some other of my photos are taken from the net as well, but for the sake of harmony, I'll let it go this once.

Hi RP,

It was in an unmentionable park south-east of Kruger. 6 other witnesses with me as well
