How about a striped polecat (Zorilla)? They are predators and their babies are born blind, hairless and pink

Thanks Elzet!!!
I saw my first and only (grown-up) one in Skukuza camp about 5 years ago! Those babies must be amongst the most helpless in the animal world!
Now have to think out a question! That's the part I hate :(

just an "easy" one to get the quiz going again. ( and my info might be wrong or old etc, so the answer would probably be debatable as well)

what is the approximate number of wild dogs in the Kruger Park?

Have a look under Mammals/African Wild Dogs.....................according to o-dog in a survey in 2009 there were 120 dogs.......................

He/she estimates there should be between 120 and 150 dogs in park.................... :(

Don't think my posting should count as a answer just telling you what I read some where else on forum................ :)

The information I got from a book on National books by Michael Bretts published in 2010 the estimate is 300 wild dogs in Kruger. This source do not mention that it is only KNP or Greater KNP including parks bordering Kruger.

It is then possible that 380 can be correct if you include the whole area around Kruger too.

Ill post a question to get things moving again :D

In a pride of lion, when a new male takes over the territory he will perform a certain behaviour, what is this behaviour, and why does he do this? (what benefit does it allow him)

He will kill all the cubs in the pride. This will result in the lionesses of the pride going into oestrus which means that the new lion will be able to start his 'genetic reign' over the area?
