Hi all

I'm looking for a detailed check-list type of thing for camping. We're going camping in Satara and Lower Sabie in April and although we've camped / camped in Kruger before (for shorter periods) are not sure exactly what to take. The bigger things:  , but know that there's "smaller" stuff that we would only think about while we're there and it's too late.

I think I have previously come across checklists like these somewhere on the forum, bu t can't seem to find it. Anybody know where it is?

Hi Anja
Under the General Section there is a thread 'Advice needed(not Park specific)' where I found useful advice on camping and equipment.

hi all

used to have A zero 3 way fridge/freezer that worked fine no matter where or when, now have a Waeco also compressor driven 3 way, only works 100% when complete level, difficult when you are camping have had to resort to carrying rubber door stops, sometimes no suitable stones.

will try and post pic of safari tent setup

My Zero 3 way works perfectly on gas , this was taken somewhere where there is no electricity .

Eish Ndloti. :slap: :slap: :slap:

You are not supposed to build your own "hotel" inside of Kruger. :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

I like your setup Ndloti.
Does your fridge/freezer ever get caught in the sun? I see you don't have any side panels on your gazebo and was wondering what the affect this may have.

Got the blow-up matress, pump and all!!
Must say, takes up the least space in transporting.

This excludes stretchers, though I'm not happy!!
Sleeping on a airbed is not for me!!

Yah 'cause forever I find myself in the bottom corner
of the tent, dismal like!!!

Any other suggestions??? Compact though does not
mean sleeping on a bedding of leaves,....

I doubt if Rodgerh would agree when I tear apart
thorntree for bedding!!

H.E, try one of these. I swear by 'em (though I use a queen size Intex inflatable for stays longer than 2-3 nights)

Hehe. I own 2 of the Ultra Lites (R599). Use 'em on short camping trips and for hiking.

Josh, how good are those mats really?
I have always used the old school R50 jobbies - blue insulating foam mattress which although prevents the cold from seeping through, provides no comfort whatsoever.
