Nice story on Makuleke and Pafuri Camp

It was nice to see an article about the Makuleke in Africa Geographic. It's just a shame that only guest of private lodges (Pafuri Camp and The Outpost) can enjoy the amazing landscape.

The sad thing though is that the private lodges use only a fraction of the available roads. The roads used most commonly by the lodges are the roads from Pafuri Camp down to Crooks Corner (Luvuvhu East), the road from Luvuvhu bridge running west parallel to the Luvuvhu (Luvuvhu West), the road leading to Lanner Gorge and the tar road from the Luvuvhu bridge to Pafuri gate. There are however amazing roads running close to the Limpopo river which are never used by them. Only the anti-poaching squad and the EcoTraining camp uses these roads because they are generally hard to travel on (fallen trees and low hanging branches). Sadly the most scenic spots of the Makuleke are on these roads and guest don't get to see them :?

(yes, I know I promised to post pictures of the Makuleke a while ago, I'll try to put some up soon)

Hi Everyone

I just got a copy of the new Africa Geographic. The WHOLE issue is dedicated to elephants and there are various articles with reference to Kruger and SANPARKS.

If you can, please get a copy - it's fantastic reading with good insight articles. Of course the culling debate is also in there.

For those of you who cannot get a hard copy, try the website, it has featuring articles.

Have an elephantfantastic day and happy Easter to everyone who celebrates this day!
