Thanks so much for the info PJL. I only wish the Park weren't so full at all the times we want to go! Still, I am sure we will get there somehow :hmz:

Wow PJL, just read your 2 amazing days in Addo.

We're also PE residents and have also seen many animals in our various visits, but never such a variety in two days. Very fortunate.

Thanks for taking the time to share with us, even though it was some time ago.

Hi sjordan,
The best option would be a forest cabin (4 single beds in one room, own shower and toilet, communal kitchen) or a family chalet (room with 2 beds plus sleeper couch and 2 single beds in the open plan lounge/kitchen - but there is only one of these in the park) or a chalet with sleeper couch (sleeper couch and 2 single beds in the open plan lounge/kitchen). Or if you want the luxury option, there are the two 4-star guesthouses which have two bedrooms and two bathrooms and sleep 6.

Hi Megan (Addo Elephant)
Thanks for the information. Is the sleeper couch in the chalet ok for 2 small kids?

Yes, the couch can accommodate two children.

or...if you like to "rough it" - The camp sites can accommodate a family sized tent, with Braai Facilities, restaurant, and electricity....communal bathroom etc.

Kids will love that, kinda like camping in the backyard, but your neighbours are the big 5

If you take the forest cabina, during teh afternoon the live bush shrikes visit, as do the francolins....amazing....

Hi,

I have been trying to work out the child policy for Addo accommodation. I have booked a cottage for later this year and am travelling with my husband and 2 year old. The cottage booking only allows you to book in two people as only two beds are available. My son still sleeps in a cot. So what I want to know is firstly, will the NP have a problem with having an extra person in the room and do I need to pay for the child.

I did try to get an answer on multiple occasions but had no luck using the SANs registration email. I was advised to contact Addo directly and I had no luck finding an email address for them.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks
M

Hi mpearson and a warm welcome to the forum........... :gflower:

Tariffs
Quote:
Additional Person Supplements are applicable to those units where number of beds exceeds the base occupancy, if these beds are occupied

Adult rates apply to persons 12 years and older.

Child rates apply to persons aged 2-11 years, infants under 2 years Gratis

If it is possible maybe give Addo a call to say that you'll be bringing the baby cot along. I do know in Kruger in some of the camps you could arrange for a cot in the accommodation, but not sure whether Addo do have cots available.

Addo Contact Info

Enjoy your stay......

Hi mpearson

Best to contact Addo directly and book a cot with them for your stay. (I am assuming they will have a cot) Or are you bringing a travel cot with you?

I am in Addo next weekend and can also find out for you if you do not have any luck between then and now if calling Addo is difficult for you. Let me know.

Delane, I may be too late to take you up on your offer but if not it would be great if you could check. Otherwise I will try calling...I was just avoiding it given the time difference.

Cheers
Marita
