Never had much luck with this road.

With reference to speeding on this road - I travel the H6 on a very regular basis and EVERYTIME witness the white staff bus from Singita traveling at speeds that are way above the allowed limits - What can be done to stop this?

I've often had some good sightings along this road. Ostrich on numerous occasions, hyena, a herd of ellies on a mission to get to one of the waterholes.

Best sighting was early in the morning - a group of 6 juvenile lions asleep on the road. We were with them for about 2 hours then a hyena stumbled into them. She tried to get the lions to chase her and it was then that we (and the lions) realised they'd been sleeping by a hyena den. Once they found it they ripped it to pieces. Luckily they couldn't get right into the den to the babies but they gave it a good go.

Seen Lions on 4 occassions' on this road including 2 nomadic males hunting Buffalo with Hyena's hanging around

Always Zebra, Wildebeest and Buffalo...and Impala ofcourse.

I have also had great sightings on this road, especially lion, last desember had two lioness with three cubs

This road is also very beautiful at this time, did it this morning. Not lots of traffic. Saw ellies, giraffe, zebras and wildebeast. No cats so far, but Sonop waterhole is looking great.... gonna spend there so time the following days...

Thought I would re-awaken the topic! Has anyone recently had good sightings on the H6??
In my experience this road is quiet. Always travel it if I'm at Satara. But one of the quietest roads around Satara for me

A hit and miss road for me. Early morning drives always produce Hyaena sightings. I have also come across Lions on a number of occassions. I have never seen Cheetah on this road in spite of the ideal territory and reports . Like Cheetah2111 I always drive it at least once when staying at Satara.

Time and place again. I love this road. Have seen cheetah, lions on three occasions including a mating pair as well as ellies and general game. Never have much luck on the S100....

Never had much luck there, but a very pretty road!

For those that enjoy a little more solitude...a good option when heading out of Satara early and bypassing the S-100!

Leopard, lion and CHEETAH! Good stuff

Saw a beautiful Leopard on this road on Saturday morning 7am
, very strange sighting as it was 10-15 meters from the road and in a dead tree next to it was a tawny eagle... 10 cars drove straight past me because (I think) they thought I had stopped for the eagle, watched the Leopard for about 15 minutes before the first car decided to stop and then the Leopard decided to move off somewhere else!
