Take the S143 north of mopani

@ ColWD, I would have love to post my Brown Hyena pic but you wouldn’t believe me so I decided not to post it…

It was a real special trip indeed, I will give anything to have the same antelope sightings again!!

You should visit Tihongonyeni, it is a must!! We went there last year July for the first time and what a place it is! You can see for miles around you and it the meeting place of all the animals in the region. You can spend the whole day driving up and down in the vicinity of the waterhole and every time you will see something different. Seen Roan, Eland, Lichtenstein, Tsessebe, Cheetah, Some impressive tuskers and much more at the waterhole. There is a thread for the waterhole, do yourself a favour and have a look!

Just had a read through the thread. Would love to see Roan and Lichtenstein's Hartebeest, Tihongonyeni may just be what the doctor ordered

The more I read through the forum, the more I'm thinking a trip up North is a must! (only ever been as far as Letaba)

At two different mornings in January 2011 I saw two different Lichtenstein's Hartebeest (one had a broken horn) at Tihongonyeni on the Tropic of Capricorn Loop. As with the Lichtenstein's Hartebeest that SamoesaWoestyn saw one of the animals was interacting with Wildebeest but also with Tsessebe and Ostrich. It arrived with a Wildebeest and I had the impression they were very used to each other. They were running around and chasing each other.

It looks like the LH is not seen that much , so like to show / share the pics I could make of one of them near Tihongonyeni waterhole (Mopani area along Capricorn Loop)

Actually I was waiting for a tusker approaching the waterhole when I saw this L.H. here the pics.

Mmmmhhhhhh... have to think about this

Think I prefer "Tusker Whisperer" since I always have "rare sightings" when I am on tusker ""hunt" or in tusker area....
But I must say you are creative with naming

Taken at Klopperfontein Dam. What was quite sad is that while I was taking the pics, two vehicles drove by with only a cursory glance at this guy

Bigal-sa, Magnificent sighting and equally magnificent photograph. I still have to see this rare antelope in the park. One can only shake ones head when people ride past and obviously not interested in non-predator sightings.

Beautiful Bigal-sa We saw some in the same area last year September . A rare sight indeed . Looked out for them again in May and also this past couple weeks , but no can do

Saw these on the H1-8, on 8 September, close to the electricity pylons. There were 3 in total, including the one with the deformed horns.

I am so green about these sightings! And some stunning photos displayed too. Never seen one in over 27 years of annual Kruger visits!
