I haven't traversed the length and breadth of Kruger like most of you but N'semani and Mlondozi Picnic spot are the ones I could sit at for half a day.

Anywhere where it is quiet. (as far as other vehicles is concerned)
My favourite places are Vutomi Dam, Bangu Waterhole, Gudzani waterhole, various river views on the Timbavati Road as well as Leeubron Waterhole and The Shimangwaneni dam on the S36.
In the north the Tshange Lookout is a firm favourite as well as the Red Rocks Lookout.
In the south Dukes Waterhole is my favourite coffee stop.
Rhino Poaching - Highlight's man's stupidity and greediness.

I could sit all day at Lake Panic Hide. Always great bird life, love the never ending hippo show and have seen wonderful activity there ... my favourite a herd of elephants coming down to the edge to drink, splash and then walk across in single file to the other side. Useless at posting pics but would be happy to email them to you. Will pm you

Tshanga by far, it is quiet and you can sit without anyone else pitching up.
There is a lot to see if you sit long enough. There is no toilet paper either, as it is not visited by hordes of people .
No to speeding in Sanparks.

Finally I think I am ready to place some of my pictures.
The picture was taken near Pafuri Picnic Site in the Luvhuvu River.

And the other one was taken from the drift at Klopperfontein.

To name a few;

Mathekenyana.
Not for the sightings, but the place itself does it for me. Being on top of the world/bush.

Image

The bridges.
You never know what you will encounter. Hlanganini for example.

Image

The sundowners on a wilderness trail.
See the sun set, while sipping from a glass of wine in the middle of the bush.

Vgstephens they are both in the Satara area.
Do you have a map?
Under Satara you have the H6, almost at the end of the H6 (before you reach N'wanetsi Damn and picnic spot) you turn right, than a short ride on the S37, there you will find the Sweni hide.
For Girvana waterhole you have to take the H7 to Orpen. Take the first dirt road to the right (S40), than first left (S12) and you have reached Girvana. If you keep following the S12 you will come to the H7 again.

For me it is Mpondo Dam. Great place for coffee, and always something happening there, though I should add not when the dam is full. Seen a beautiful pair of Tawny Eagles come to drink water, lions, buffs, elephants and bird life is terrific.

But then as mention any place is suitable-even on the N1 between Skuks and LS.

And Ngotso dams,-North and south are also great places to see animals. Little shade though, so it can get verrrrrrry hot.

Cheerio

At the moment the low water bridge close to Sweni hide is a must.
There is a nice bit of water, and the birds are amazing.
I spent an hour there on Sunday, and had five different kingfishers around the same pool (Giant, Pied, Brown hooded, Striped & Malachite)
Had loads of other birds incl. a very successful yellow billed stork.

Mlondozi Picnic spot
We sat there for 3 hours on Sunday 12 October, had lunch, saw the White Rhino come for a drink, Elephants, zebra, Wildebees (Gnu), Impala, Waterbuck, Giraffe, Warthogs and more birds than I can mention :D
I used to love Nkumbe, but it has gone downhill :x rapidly and just does not have that "special" feeling anymore

Some of our favorite places to sit for a longer time in Kruger are 1) Any of the Witsand or Coetzer waterholes on the Mahonie drive outside of Punda Maria Camp 2) Pafuri picnic spot on one of those green benches next to the river bank and 3) on one of the river edge benches at the Letaba Rest Camp. The view over the Letaba River is impressive and represents for us a very distinctive Kruger scene. But to sit anywhere in Kruger for a while is great.
