1.False - The upper parts of the body are yellowish-grey in colour whileneck, shoulders and sides are browner. The chest and underparts are light compared to the rest of the body. It seems that the colour variations can depend on the area

2.False – The hair lies depressed to the head except when alarmed or during courtship

3. False – the eyes are ringed with white hair
4. True – there is no external rhinarium as in other antelopes
5. False – they have well developed rubbery pads at the back that lie in contact with the ground
6. False – they are more or less the same size – but only the males have horns.

ONW, excellent as always. You're IT. Interesting, one source does quote the male being smaller but my others doesn't support that.

And to MD, also well done!

Strange, Bishop, how different sources can differ so greatly! :wall: However, my two sources say they're more or less the same size.

Besides our Sun, any star we see in the night skies can only be a point of light - NEVER a disc (like a planet), even if we use binoculars or a telescope.

stars reflect their own light (our own sun can be seen as star-like) planets reflect the lights of the sun or close stars. (if that is what you meant.)

 to the lady thing.

As to your question, I'm simply asking if one can see a star as a round disc or only as a point of light that, no matter how much we zoom in on it with current telescopes, we cannot resolve it into a round disc (like one can do with a planet). Does that make sense: point of light or disc?

That makes a bit more sense now. I would say it just stays a point of light. Stars are too far away for us to see them as "discs". :D

We can see our sun as a 'disc', right.
A star is a sun that shines, right.
So with a very strong telescope I think that we'll see a stars as a 'disc'.
Myth ??

I'll wait for a few more opinions before revealing the answer ... so far one for and one against. :hmz:

Let's talk one of most common animals seen in Kruger: Giraffe.

True or False?

1. A giraffe's has specialised digestive juices to deal with ingested thorns.
2. A giraffe generally uses its long, prehensile tongue to remove ticks from the body.
3. Usually, the umbilical cord snaps as the baby is born.
4. A giraffe has a well-developed voice box.
5. The forelegs are used to swipe kick and the rear legs to chop kick as a defence mechanism against predators.
