For those who don't know Frank Mbasa, he is he keeper of Pafuri picnic spot. Has been there for years, avid birder, and due to donations from SA Birding is a qualified birdguide now. In the best birdingspot in the whole of SA, so if you are there, chat to him! (He is also a VERY likable guy.)

We are going to him in less than 3 months, and would like to bring him a present.
Has anyone been there recently and had a good look at his books, bins, or other stuff?
Could we make him happy with a new fresh print of a book, or is there anything else you think he needs?

While we were there last October he was telling us how he had helped photographers get some shots of the birds around Pafuri for a new bird guide. I think the one in question was The Bird Guide of Southern Africa by Ulrich Oberprieler and Burger Cillie. Perhaps he'd like a copy? Or I know that his Sasol copy is getting very thumbed. Or perhaps a copy of the new Roberts for Kruger?

I think he has a camera now, courtesy of another forumite, so maybe new batteries or memory cards?

I'd also been trying to think of a few things to put in a goodie bag for him for when we visit in Jan. We've had such a great time there in the past, I'd also like to give something back, as a thank you.

What about the new Trevor Carnabybook - Beat about the Bush - Birds - I have just bought it for myself and it has the most awesome information in it!

I'll see if I can manage a copy of Robert's Kruger or Sasol 3rd ed. for him.
Hopefully will meet him in December when I'm in Punda Maria with the bird club.

Now, I have a couple of bird book and will check on the editions and will willingly pass them on to him.
For business reasons I have access to memory cards, SD's and so on, and can get a good quantity of those for him. Can you find out what camera he is using and also the kind of cards????

Give him a copy of the rules where it states that all instances of braai rentals MUST be issued with invoice - seems he has a bit of selective memory loss...
