In fact, there was a programme on TV where a (if I recall correctly) cobra had a go at a badger. The badger collapsed for an extended time, recovered, and further feasted on the dead snake.

Edit:

Just found a link to our Forum on this

There is a video of this incident on You Tube.

 Many "facts" are actually "myths". Especially on the internet! (And yes, often we just don't know all.)

Good quiz! Just not sure how we are going to be sure of the answers! :hmz:

It is a myth, but they are difficult to kill! Many badgers have turned around from the door of "death" after being bitten by a snake.

1. False (These two species are names after the Orca because of their appearance and are both under the dolphin family, but they are not closely related to the Orca - I don't really how to interpret this though!)
2. True
3. False (They aren't the only ones with the word "whale" in their name, e.g. Melon-headed Whale; the Pilot Whales
4. False (They have been known to attack and eat a blue whale, but not actually kill it?? - again, I don't really know how to interpret this though!)
5. False (They have the longest dorsal find of all cetaceans)
6. False (Humpbacked Whales use bubble-netting, Orcas use carousel feeding)

Great question Tom, very interesting!!

I thought I was IT? :?

Giraffes are quite audible.

A lot of people think that giraffes don't make any sounds, but this isn't true. Usually they're silent, but at times, they do make some noise!

* Calves (baby giraffes) bleat and make a mewing call.
* Cows (female giraffes) seeking lost calves bellow.
* Courting bulls (male giraffes) sometimes let out a loud cough!
* Also, giraffes have been heard snorting, moaning, snoring, hissing, and making strange flutelike sounds!
