Hi all

well we are counting down to our next trip to south africa and have booked 7 nights so far in sanparks accommodation (1 night Augarbies, 6 nights KTP) , but we are looking at spending a couple of nights in Tsitsikamma/Storms river mouth rest camp before moving onto Cape Town. we normally are happy to self cater but as we will be there for only a couple of days before moving onto the hotel in Cape town, so we don't want to stock up on too many supplies.

so my question is:-
What is the restaurant like?

i have had a good look on the forum and could only find 1 comment about the restaurant and it wasn't a good comment

anyone can have a bad meal every now and then so i don't take too much notice of just one complaint, so it would be nice to hear other visitors comments.

Hi Russ

I normally visit a restaurant for an out-of-this-world experience and therefore a real treat where you experience more than the ordinary. I don't believe that that was my experience at Stormsriver Mouth restaurant.

If you are simply looking for a good meal at a realistic price, you won't be disappointed. My suggestion would be one good meal a day at the restaurant and low key self catering for the rest.

It all depends on your expectations. We had a couple of meals there over the years and the mere fact that we went back is a clear indication that we were pleased. My SO maintains that the pudding (can't remember which one - cheesecake maybe?) is worth mentioning.

Thank you for your enquiry in this forum, we as the Restaurant Team aim to provide excellent service and food to the visitors and residents of this incredible coastal National Park. We have a diverse spectrum of visitors that visit us and we try our best to cater for all taste buds and wallet sizes.

If I could recommend my favourite, namely the Calamari wrap with the fresh roasted vegetables. Our Milkshakes are superb and our scones are the local Sunday favourite with our( if I may say so myself) excellent coffee.

We will for sure pop in, Stormsriver Mouth is my favourite place on earth.

I have visited the park for 4 times now during the last years and we always have a eveningmeal at the restaurant. The fishplatters are my favourite, sitting outside (even on a wintersnight), with the sound of the sea and eating with your fingers mmmmmmmmmmm can't wait

Not sure when you were travelling to SA - ? during WSC ? However I did want to feedback our experience.
re: Restaurant-Like many forumers theTsitsikamma/Storms River remains one of the most favourite places whenever I travel to SA/Cape Town. Along with my family from the Cape we have always enjoyed great hospitality and service throughout all of the facilities there.
The restaurant has great service, reasonably priced and good fare. I am loathe to mention names of staff but there are some who have stood out for delivering great customer service. And Robert's post in response demonstrates their commitment to ensuring visitors want to visit as well as come back again and again!
Rus, you won't be disappointed with the guest house up on the hill. It accommodates 8 from memory. Just awesome in terms of tranquility and having the best views!
