Hello,
we will go to Mapungubwe for arrival day and 2 further days in March 2011. I am not shure if it is better to stay at Leokwe Camp, where is no restaurant and shop or if we go to a Bed+Breakfast in Musina and driving each day to Mapungubwe. (The price is also a little difference R745 Leokwe and R600 in Musina.) Can somebody help me in my decision? :hmz: What is the best, I can do? Or is there a B&B and a restaurant at Dongola? - One thing I know : I cannot make a nightdrive, when I´m outside the camp at night. - After Mapungubwe we´re going to KNP from Parfuri to Skukuza in 2 Weeks.

And miss the atmosphere? Have you seen the bungalows?

For me it would be an easy choice, a braai and enjoying the park.
Just do shopping on the way, there is a fridge.

Stay in Leokwe!

It is too far to be practical to drive between Mapungubwe and Mussina each time. The units in Leokwe have their own kitchen, you can easily self cater.

You will be so disappointed if you stay in Musina.

Heaven or hell...? Heaven or hell...? :hmz:

Yeah, tough one...!

(Excuse the irony. Like the others said, nothing beats staying at Leokwe.)

Hi taxinms, What you "score" on the accommodation, you will spend on the fuel :slap:

The problem with Leokwe's units, man, it is if you have never ever left home, except you will never have the chance of spotting a leopard, watching you from the surrounding rocks .
The almost open air shower is out of this world, and when you leave you will be able to sing, even if you have never sung before
You wont be sorry, promise.

Do these bungalows have a kitchen or is it just a braai? Not that i don't mind to braai but i like to cook also. I can bring my own cooking gear and all so that is not a problem.

Hi Bart, have a look here! It has a kitchen with all that you need.

I have never been there, but if it is like most kitchens in the Sanparks accomodations all you need to take along is a good knife and a "non sticking" pan. Sorry, I don't know what it is called in english, but the one for the eggs

@Bart47

Micetta is right - all you need to take is 1 sharp knife and 1 non-stick frying pan ( or go without fried eggs :( ) and your food/drink.
Leokwe Camp is fantastic and as for the swimming pool.......
We have stayed both at Mazoe (camping) and Leokwe and recommend both.

Yeah i saw it about the kitchen but didn't know it had everything for cooking. Is it an electric cooking device? I got everything, good knives and a good non-sticking frying pan. I'll bring everything in.
Must be fantastic to stay there.
