I am also an addict. If there is/are a book/ books/magazines with the name Kruger/Lowveld/Bushveld/Game rangers/Birds/Africa Travel/Camping/4x4/Outdoors on the cover, I buy it. But I never throw away any books/magazines etc. In the reception area of my office, I put all the magazines(not books) that I have read with a note above it, which reads " Free, take one". The idea is to promote conservation amongst all people, whether rich or poor, black or white, educated or uneducated. It is actually shocking to hear that the majority of our people in this country, are not aware of the existence of a place called Kruger

I discovered another book in my collection titled "Kruger National Park" by Yeates , and see I now have 3 copies of Jock Of The Bushveld .

One that has not been mentioned is "Kruger Park Adventures" by C.P. De Leeuw Beyers. Here is one excerpt

Gmlsmit, if the list is just "some" of your books, I don't want to see the full list But you have some very good books there. The book that I have mentioned in my last post contains some true game ranger stories, which I will compare with your "Lest we forget" thread to see if I can add some value to the latter.

The "Lest we Forget" thread is not only for my exclusive use, anyone who has some all true story about the old timers should feel free to post them.

My "Lest we Forget" stories are true - from actual interviews with those mentioned and/or their families, getting them to talk is sometimes quite difficuilt but once the ice had been broken my tape recorders works overtime.

I have a few books +/- 10. I received a really nice book yesterday for my birthday called " My Book" by Brian Joffe. It is an hardcover book containing Wildlife photos with short comments/sayings with each photo. Beautiful photos and very thought provoking.

I have 50!!! Not including magazines.

I don't have the patience to type in all the names here, as my typing skills are too slow but I do have a printed copy, which I keep in my Kruger folder, for when I visit.

I too cannot resist buying any item which mentions Kruger. I am proud to admit that I am obsessed with KNP.

Right , Mauxie , obsessed with KNP is how I would classify myself as well !
Thus my frustration at the excessive amount of day trippers ...

When I need to pacify myself I pick up "African Eden" , "Memories of a Game Ranger" or "Wild Ways" or similar to take me back to how Kruger should be ...
