I dont like them as much as you do. Unfortunately, this one is a dead specimin, my brother was at home, watching TV, and this "thing" fell on him.....lol.....he apparently emptied a can or aerosol insecticide on it, and it took a few mins to die.

I have a nice snak pic - a boomslang tyake in addo as well, was 1.5m away, in the photo forum :) Regularly see Puff Adders in summer on night drive along teh dusty road. Gimme a call if your down this way, will take you :)

@Wild dreamer you could also come visit at sometime and we can work on your phobia?

@Hooligan:I should have brought 1 or 2 to the meet we had and showed you?

They are very lazy mysterious beautiful creatures. And people dont always see it.They immediately see hair and 8 legs and then they dont like them.My mom was scared in the beginning and now she's very calm about it and even looks when I feed them.Which is amazing in its own

Big5spotter, you are mean!!! Have you ever seen someone with arachnaphobia? Well, you don't know what their next move will be! It can be any of the following: Scream, faint, run, kick, hit, run into a wall, freeze...endless possibilities! You DON'T want to see that, believe me!

Many moons ago when I was at 'varsity my sister was staying outside Magaliesburg. One holiday I stayed with them. the one night I read (as usual) till about midnight and went to the bathroom. When I got back to my room there was a hunting spider on the wall above my bed - as big as the palm of my hand. I closed the door and went to fetch a container - large bottle. Then the two of us chased one another around that room until he was in the bottle. Bottle went back to the kitchen on top of the fridge. My sister nearly had a heart-attack next morning. Nephew was still in primary school and took the bottle to school and had some fun. And the afternoon we released is back in the koppie behind the house.

They are beautiful, even though they are creepy-looking. Nicky, damn nice photos those showing the detail. B5, nice girls you have there.
