Those are true classics Elizabeth.
And a nice old collection as well Ndloti.

I have just started collecting the coffee mugs with each camp's name on, trying to get one for each camp.
Have a few old book on Kruger, inherited from my late Mother-in-law.

Theunsie and Elsa and Michel . I have been reading this 1940 booklet and it is really quite amusing for the langauge is fairly outdated and statements made such as the bontebuck, addo and Kalahari gemsbuck will never open to the public...well look at Sanparks now !!! There were only 4 Parks then They also State that the Natal Parks will never come to anything as they are not National Parks.and are only there to help save the White Rhinos , they describe these animals as gentle creatures( obviously they had never been chased by one)!!!

Do most of the main camps have souvenir stickers? I'll be pretty disappointed travelling 2000kms to find I don't get to earn my badges! Punda, Shing, Letaba, Satara, LS, BnD, Pretoriuskop and Skuk from 31/8 till 20/9. First and probably only visit. I can almost taste it!

Hi Harv and Welcome!

Not quite sure just what you mean by stickers? If you mean those that you can put on a car window, then I think that you'll be disappointed. They used to have them for all of the camps when I first visited in the 1980s, but more recently I've not seen them anywhere :( . However, I've not been to Kruger since 2008, so perhaps someone has more recent knowledge? I'd be delighted to hear that these have been reintroduced, then I could start a new collection

Have a great trip!

I have just returned from Kruger and can confirm that I haven't seen any camp stickers around - certainly not at the camps we've visited: Letaba, Olifants, Satara, Skukuza and Lower Sabie.

However, they do have a Kruger Passport these days- the booklet looks like a real passport and it contains a page for each camp which can be stamped at the various camp shops, including picnic spots and entrance gates

We loved ours and certainly made a point of collecting stamps for 'our Kruger passport'.

Reading this thread has just brought a tear to my eye.... My grandfather (bless his soul), was an avid "collector" of these stickers. He alway used to have a "special" place for each on on this caravan windows.... It would be sad if they stopped....

Maybe another avenue to raise some funds woudl be to introduce them again? :hmz:
