Of course. Mine stays in the car (and 1 stays with the tent and another lives with the binoculars)

My SO and I came back from the KNP on Saturday (24th April). We had a weird experience with our YR.

Firstly we saw 2 other YR's. One was Eco Junkie and the other gmlsmit. We had a nice chat with gmlsmit in BND but couldn't stop to chat to EJ :( sorry EJ.

The weird incident happened as follows:

We had stopped at a view point on the beautiful H-10 from Satara to Lower Sabie when we were asked by an Afrikaans speaking person who wanted to know if we were part of the AWB (political party) because of the YR. Having been in the park for over a week already and not heard any news of what had happened outside the park we thought it better to remove the YR. We just weren't sure if members of the AWB had decided to wear YR's on their cars!

Last year we were only in the park for 3 days but met P@m and Martie through the YR displaying. It is good to be able to put faces to the people on here and this is a good way of doing it. Keep it going please.....we will be flying ours in September.

A combination of red, white and black ribbons will raise some eyebrows, but with yellow, you will be safe. In any case, if you were AWB members, so what, they are not banned.

I’m so happy to see that mites are still flying YR. Please don’t stop. Maybe we were just unlucky to see some this time.
I’m hoping that a political party doesn’t decide to use YR.

Ya sure if a person is a member of the AWB then who am I to say that they can't display their political affiliation. But I'm not a member, and so, I didn't want to give the impression that I might be one. :)

What I find "shocking' is that there are people around who doesn't know what the SANParks forum is. The question usually is,
"What's up with that yellow ribbon"
"I am a member of the SANParks forum"
"The what?"
"The official website of SANParks"
"O.......bye"

It is clear that a lot of visitors are totally unaware of the existence of this wonderful site. It should be a prerequisite that all visitors must register here before accommodation is allocated to them(only joking)

We traveled to Kruger from way overseas and thankfully remembered our yellow ribbon, but I'm sure there are lots of members who have forgotten to pack theirs, both national and international visitors.
I still think the addition of yellow ribbons for sale in the park shops would be a definite plus, both for convenience and for sales.
Just checked the latest stats and....ready for this...Total members 18492
:hmz: Even at R5 would be a potential bonanza!!

I had a similar idea. To propose to the community-based curio shops at each entrance to sell some kind of ribbon. My initial thought was a beaded YR, but I'm not sure how practical that would be. Am sure they could come up with some ideas if presented with the idea.

Superstess, look out for us, we will be mainly in the South at the same time, and will definitely be flying my Red and yellow Ribbon.

Please don't forget to send your dates to Jazil and have them added Here
Then at least one can get some idea of who will be in the same area. :D
