We had the chance to stay about one hour and a half looking at a pack of twenty last february on the S139 ( private Biyamiti road ) .
Two days after we saw 4 of them on the H1-2 :D

We were very fortunate as well. On 12 March 2010 we spotted 9 WD's on the H3 and later that day we spotted 6 WD's next to the H5-1. On 13 March 2010 we spotted the 6 WD's again on the H4-1.

Herewith some of the 9 dogs:

And here the 6 dogs:

Because they chase down their prey, they are often seen on or alongside roads.

Hello Bert,

I was also in the park on the 12th - saw the dogs on the main road as well - we sat there for more than an hour - we had 2 of them about 1,5 metres from the car (I was parked on the RHS of the road - the two were really hot and kept digging deeper into the ground to keep coll - then we saw the others - about 30 metres in - we counted 15 in the bush - so about 17 dogs (this may have been the same dogs you saw - and probably all the dogs reffered to as being close to Afsaal that morning)

Two days later we saw a pack lying in the river bed along the Wategat road late afternoon - this was a pack of about 8 - going back to camp we tole a couple that there were wild dogs - they just said OH - no interest ??????

Seems like dogs are being seen quite often lately

We stopped at the Mathekenyane 'get-out' point on the 29th of March to stretch our legs and have a cup of coffee. Basically got chased back into our car by a pack of wild dogs. Was amazing to see. They sniffed around a car for a while and headed down towards the H1-1.
Shows you - 'get-out' point or not - you need to be careful. You never know what is lurking in the bushes.

Stayed in Skukuza on the weekend of 27 - 28 March 2010. Saw wild dogs twice this weekend! Saturday at 5:30 just outside of Skukuza next to the Sabie river, 6 of them. And again on Sunday on the S65 dirt road. They were quite in a hurry, as we followed these 7 wild dogs for kilometers at 30-40km/h!
This was a great birthday present for me, as it was my birthday on the 27th!

Gosh you are so lucky to see WD. I´ll never saw WD till now, but I want to see them..... .... .Anway I have got a question, does Reports exist where WD attack humans? because from the Power these animals have, they should be able to do so, but I never heard a Story of that Szenario.

Best Regards Malealea

Malealea, as far as I know, they don't like humans. Can't blame them really.

My daughters walked into a wild dog pack recently on a bush walk. The dogs were chasing an impala. The walking group was probably seen as competition. They were certainly not seen as prey.
